The Foundation of Deep Roots.

Growing up, the swamp at the edge of our woods had a certain allure.  Whenever I settled in at the edge of the water, I immediately felt a sense of calm, knowing that all I saw and heard was just as it was supposed to be.  I also felt innately connected to the entire scene, knowing I was a part of the microsystem by which I was surrounded.  The smells, sounds, and seasons were relentlessly captivating.

After I graduated college, I worked winters at local gyms and fitness centers, and summers outdoors with the state parks.  To this day, these seemingly mutually exclusive career paths call to me equally.  It turns out, both indoor physical activity and outdoor recreation lend to particular forms of personal wellness.  Some aspects of wellness include, but are not limited to, physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual wellness.  A holistic approach seemed, to me, the way the work of health and wellness was always intended to be applied.

I started Deep Roots Health and Yoga as an outlet for this idea that has been at the center of my life ever since I can remember.  For me, it's more accurately described as a feeling, and I still struggle to find just the right words to describe it.  From the internal perspective, it is the root system connecting body, mind, and soul.  From the external perspective, it is the root system connecting sentient and non-sentient beings with the other elements of the earth and universe.

Most often, clients first seek out health coaching as a tool to make improvements in their physical wellness.  They are then surprised and elated to find that other areas of their personal wellness inevitably improve, as well.

My hope is that I can guide others to find their individual expressions of this feeling that I have shared with you today.  I believe that holistic wellness is something all humans have the ability to attain.  The tools needed to improve one's situation are always within reach.  At Deep Roots Health and Yoga, it is our mission to provide holistic health services to build awareness for a healthier community and leave clients with a better sense of self.
